A week gone in Kazkhstan and it has been a new experience. Viktorja and I visited quite a few schools during the week and will be visiting churches on monday. Thank goodness Viktorja is here, I would be lost without her. This is the first time I've been in a city and have had to find a school without an address, and also to get to a street that is not on the map. Some schools also seem to have extremely short memories as they sometimes forget we are coming. Well, Viktorja has been handling those problems with an excellent success rate. I merely follow her and speak in the schools. It was a very tiring week but we managed to get a little rest today as we went just outside of the city to the mountains and had delicious food on a mountain side restaurant.
We have been well received by students for the most part and have encountered a few exceptional students whom we hope will choose to join LCC next year. The Christian aspect of our university is not a drawing point, typically. So Viktorja and I were surprised when a student shook our hands after a presentation, said thanks and "God bless you". The students that seem to be the most interested are ones that have given me very good initial impressions. It is amazing how LCC can draw such quality students, both in academics and in character.
