I received my first bribe offer today. That was interesting. I didn't realize these recruiting trips through poor countries could have such great potential for profit! A student really wanted to get into LCC but clearly did not have the English proficiency and he said his dad will pay whatever it takes and asked how much I wanted. He just couldn't understand why I wouldn't take a bribe and I was too shocked to form a fist (I would never have used it, honestly). It did make me a bit angry though and also sad. However, I was extremely pleased to see the looks of absolute disgust on the faces of his classmates standing next to him. I think those girls could express their minds a lot clearer than I! It was a good school though today and I feel LCC will be receiving its first students from this city this next school year (including one or two of those disgusted girls, I certainly hope so!!).
